This chapter explains how to configure how your custom aspects appear in Visual Studio Tools for Metalama and PostSharp. It contains the following topics:
| Section | Description |
|---|---|
| Customizing Aspect Description in CodeLens and Tooltips | This topic describes how to change the description of custom aspects in CodeLens and tooltips in Visual Studio. |
| Estimating Code Savings | This topic explains how to give hints so that PostSharp can better estimate how many lines of code are saved thanks to your aspect. |
The descriptions, the code saving estimates and the information that aspects push programmatically are written to the weaving symbol file at build time. The postsharp introspect commands show them outside Visual Studio too, on any platform and to AI coding agents. See Inspecting How Aspects Were Applied.
